March 20th, 2010- Purple Fabulosity

I made this cake for a good friend of mine, her only request was that it be purple and fabulous! Since she has such a great sense of style, I thought it was only fair that I accompany her cake with a stylish pregnant lady, with heels and a matching purse (the pictures don't show the heels very well, but I hope you can see the purse). She absolutely loved the cake, and it matched her baby shower theme perfectly. Another Happy Customer = Priceless!

It's a Jungle Out There

My friend asked for a baby shower jungle themed cake and this is what I came up with. It's a mix of ideas, I found online, but overall I loved the way this cake turned out.

March 15th, 2010 -- Cortez Wedding Cake

What a crazy week I have had so many cake requests, so have been madly making cakes in my kitchen.

This past weekend I made a wedding cake, with over 100 handmade gumpaste flowers. My first time working with gumpaste, and i love it!

Here is another wedding cake I did a while back. Over 60 handmade sugar roses, 100% Fondant Cake, Lemon cake, with Lemon Filling, very delicious cake!

San Diego Cake Show, 2010

So this weekend I entered the San Diego Cake Show, wow, what a week. I had a crazy week at work super busy, so I unfortunetly could not dedicate as much time as I wanted to for my cake entry, but with the time that I had, and the number of things I had to do this weekend, I was happy I was able to finish my cake.

I was amazed by all the cakes submitted for the show, every cake showed time and dedication, and exquisite attention to detail and innovative cake skills. AMAZING Cakes!!!
